States Without Machines (2025-2026)

These 23 states have no confirmed machines yet. Check the official locator for updates.

If you’ve been hunting for Pokémon TCG cards at retail price without fighting scalpers at GameStop or refreshing Target’s website at 3 AM, there’s a better option sitting inside your local grocery store. Pokémon Automated Retail Vending Machines  – operated directly by The Pokémon Company International  – have exploded across the United States since their quiet debut in Washington State back in 2017.

These aren’t knockoff card dispensers from a county fair. They’re official touchscreen kiosks stocked with sealed booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, tins, and collection boxes at manufacturer-suggested retail prices. For a full breakdown of what each product costs, see our Pokémon vending machine prices and restock guide. Every product is genuine, every price matches what you’d pay at a Pokémon Center online, and the machines accept credit cards and mobile payments.

The network has grown fast. In June 2023, there were just 45 machines nationwide. By October 2023, that number hit 120. By early 2024, The Pokémon Company had nearly doubled the count to 200 machines and expanded into California for the first time. As of early 2026, machines are confirmed across more than 25 U.S. states, with the densest clusters in Texas, California, Washington, Oregon, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Colorado.

This guide covers every confirmed state with active machines, the grocery store chains hosting them, approximate GPS coordinates to help you navigate, and the best digital tools for tracking machines near you.

What Pokémon Vending Machines Sell and How They Work?

Pokémon Automated Retail machines function like a standard vending machine with a touchscreen interface. You browse the available TCG inventory on screen, select your items, pay with a credit or debit card (most also accept Apple Pay and Google Pay), and collect your sealed product from the dispensing slot. The machine emails a digital receipt after checkout.

Here’s what you can typically find inside:

Product TypeTypical MSRP Range
Single Booster Pack$4.49 – $6.99
Booster Bundle (6 packs)$24.99 – $29.99
Elite Trainer Box (ETB)$49.99 – $54.99
Collection Tin$24.99 – $29.99
Collection Box$39.99 – $49.99

Recent popular sets stocked in these machines include Prismatic Evolutions, Journey Together, Destined Rivals, Paldean Fates, and the 151 set. Inventory rotates and restocks typically happen every 7 to 14 days, though The Pokémon Company doesn’t publish a fixed schedule. We track current Pokémon TCG vending machine product prices with regular updates as new sets rotate in.

Important: The Pokémon Company does not accept returns on any vending machine purchases. Once dispensed, the sale is final. Store employees can’t help with machine issues either  – these are owned and serviced entirely by TPCi. For problems, call 866-872-4790 or submit a support request through the Pokémon Center vending machine support portal.

Top States for Pokémon Vending Machines

Texas  – The Pokémon Vending Capital

Texas dominates with the largest concentration of machines in the country  – over 40 and counting. You’ll find them in Kroger, H-E-B, Tom Thumb, Randalls, and Albertsons locations across Dallas, Austin, Houston, Arlington, San Antonio, and Fort Worth. Some cities have multiple machines within a short drive of each other. The mix of H-E-B (a Texas-centric chain) and national brands like Kroger gives this state the widest retail partner coverage anywhere.

California  – Newest Major Expansion

California got its first machines in early 2024 when TPCi placed units in 22 Vons, Albertsons, and Food 4 Less stores across Los Angeles County and Orange County. The state has continued to grow since then and now represents one of the largest markets outside Texas. Given California’s massive Pokémon fanbase, expect continued expansion here.

Washington  – Where It All Started

Washington holds a unique place in Pokémon vending history. The first machines were installed in malls near The Pokémon Company International’s headquarters in Bellevue around 2017. Washington is also home to the rare Pokémon Center Kiosks at Westfield Southcenter Mall (Seattle), Tacoma Mall, and South Hill Mall (Puyallup)  – these sell plush toys, video games, and accessories alongside TCG products. Standard TCG machines are found in Safeway, QFC, and Fred Meyer stores throughout the Seattle-Tacoma metro area.

How to Find Pokémon Vending Machines Near You?

Official Pokémon Vending Machine Locator

PokeFindr (pokefindr.app)

PokeFindr is a popular fan-built interactive map that shows Pokémon vending machine locations across the U.S. It covers machines at Kroger, King Soopers, Safeway, and other partner stores. The map is regularly updated based on community reports and official data. It’s free to use and doesn’t require an account.

PokeTools (poketools.live)

PokeTools offers a vending machine map alongside set pricing data and grading margin calculators. The location data is pulled from community reports and verified against official sources. Your location is used temporarily for nearby results and isn’t stored.

Other Tracking Tools

PokeVend (pokevend.us) provides a locator with offline support for field use, retailer filtering, and route planning. PokemonMap.com offers real-time status tracking. Reddit communities like r/PokemonTCG are also valuable for spotting new machines, restock reports, and local discoveries.

Can I buy a Pokémon vending machine?

No. All official Pokémon Automated Retail machines are owned and operated by The Pokémon Company International. They’ve confirmed there are no plans to sell them. Third-party commercial card vending machines are available separately if you want to run your own operation.

Most Pokémon vending machines in the U.S. accept credit cards, debit cards, and mobile payment methods like Apple Pay and Google Pay. Cash acceptance varies by location.

Can I return a product bought from a vending machine?

No. The Pokémon Company does not accept returns from any vending machine purchase. All sales are final once the item is dispensed.

What if a machine is broken or my item gets stuck?
